Canicattì restores stolen memorial plaque for Stefano Saetta

The municipality of Canicattì has replaced a commemorative plaque dedicated to Stefano Saetta, which was recently stolen from the city's public villa. The plaque honors the son of Judge Antonino Saetta, who was killed in a mafia ambush in 1988.

Mayor Vincenzo Corbo attended the installation of the new artisan-made plaque. Additionally, a commemorative leaf was placed in the ‘Giardino dei Giusti’ to honor Carabinieri Marshal Giuliano Guazzelli, who was also assassinated by Cosa Nostra in 1992. The leaf will be officially unveiled on September 22 during events marking the start of Legality Week, a period dedicated to remembering figures like Rosario Livatino, Antonino Saetta, and Stefano Saetta who fought against organized crime.
