Canicattini Bagni: Investigation launched after man found dead

Authorities in Sicily have launched an investigation following the discovery of a 30-year-old man's body in the countryside between Noto and Canicattini Bagni. The body was found near an abandoned farmhouse on Saturday night.

The Syracuse Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. While investigators noted that no obvious signs of violence were immediately apparent on the body, a rope was discovered near the site, and certain elements found at the scene have led officials to consider various possibilities, including ritualistic or esoteric practices. Investigators are also evaluating the possibility of suicide.

Carabinieri are working to reconstruct the victim's final hours and identify recent contacts. The local mayor, Paolo Amenta, expressed the community's shock and grief, calling for patience while the judiciary conducts its investigation.
