Canik hosts Traditional Karakucak Wrestling Festival

The Traditional Canik Karakucak Wrestling Festival, organized by the Canik Municipality, concluded with 350 athletes competing across three categories: head, stars, and minis. Recep Taslak secured first place in the head category after a final match against Recep Kara.

Festival participants included several legendary wrestlers such as Abdullah Güngör, Serhat Balcı, and Recep Kara. Erol Türkoğlu, President of the Istanbul Samsun Associations Federation (İSDEF), was named the Festival Aga. Canik Mayor İbrahim Sandıkçı emphasized the importance of preserving this ancestral sport for future generations.
