Canik Mayor Announces New Housing, Boulevards and Gas Connections

Mayor İbrahim Sandıkçı of Canik district said the Soğuksu Urban Renewal Project will provide earthquake‑resistant homes and new social spaces for residents. He highlighted the opening of the Canik 1 New Boulevard and ongoing construction of the wider Canik 2 Boulevard that will improve access to Samsun City Hospital.

The mayor also reported that natural‑gas infrastructure work is continuing across the district. Households in the Gaziosmanpaşa, Dereler and Kozlu neighbourhoods have already been connected, and work is underway in Düvecik to complete main‑line installations before winter.

These initiatives aim to enhance safety, mobility and quality of life for Canik’s population.
