Samsun hosts Mavi Vatan Science Festival with 10,000 visitors

The ‘2 Nehir, 1 Deniz Samsun’da Mavi Vatan Bilim Şenliği’ (2 Rivers, 1 Sea: Blue Homeland Science Festival) was held in Canik, Samsun, attracting over 10,000 visitors over three days. Organized by Canik Municipality and the Canik District Directorate of National Education with support from TÜBİTAK, the event featured 36 different workshops.

Participants engaged with advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence tools and virtual reality experiences. A notable highlight was the appearance of CANİKMAN, Turkey’s first humanoid robot registered to a population. The festival aimed to foster scientific literacy and awareness of the ‘Blue Homeland’ concept among youth through interactive education and science demonstrations.

Canik Mayor İbrahim Sandıkçı stated that the municipality continues to organize science festivals to help young people discover their talents and promote the ‘National Technology Move’ ideal, aiming to cultivate generations that produce technology rather than just consuming it.
