Canine behavior experts link dog stress to human emotions and household discipline

Experts in canine behavior suggest that dogs can detect human stress through physiological changes. Al Rankin notes that dogs may sense nervousness not through visual cues, but by detecting chemical changes in a person's scent, such as alterations in sweat and breath caused by hormonal shifts and changes in heart rate.

Research from Queen’s University Belfast has explored the physiological connection between pets and owners, specifically observing heart rate variations in both during stressful environments like veterinary clinics.

Regarding behavioral issues, trainer Víctor Mañero indicates that dogs pulling on leashes often stem from a lack of discipline or excessive permissiveness within the home. This behavior is frequently linked to high stress levels and separation anxiety, where the animal experiences intense excitement or fear during walks.
