Canine training programs held in Ecuador and Argentina
Various canine training initiatives have recently concluded in Ecuador and Argentina. In Ambato, Ecuador, the Municipality of Ambato and the National Police hosted the ‘Los K9 y Paquito Policía’ vacation workshops. The 34-hour program, held at Parque La Laguna and the Community Surveillance Unit, focused on obedience, responsible pet ownership, and coexistence. Mayor Diana Caiza noted that the municipal veterinary hospital has performed over 10,000 sterilizations and facilitated more than 2,000 adoptions.
In Aldea Brasilera, Argentina, volunteer firefighters participated in an intensive K9 training workshop. The session was designed to enhance the skills of search and rescue dog teams, focusing on technical aspects such as learning variables, motivation, and prey drive. The training provided practical exercises tailored to different developmental stages, from puppies to advanced working teams, to improve operational response during regional emergencies.
