Cannes expands role as year-round international filming location
Cannes is increasingly serving as a year-round filming location for major international productions, moving beyond its identity as merely the host of a famous film festival. According to data from the Cannes City Hall, 310 filming days have already been recorded since the start of 2026, following 419 days in 2025 (excluding studio work at Campus Georges Méliès).
Currently, three major productions are active in the area. HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ has moved its setting to the French Riviera for its fourth season, with over 50 days of work planned at iconic locations such as the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and the Hôtel Martinez. This production is expected to generate more than 17,000 local overnight stays and support numerous regional professionals. Additionally, Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris’ has returned to the city for its sixth season, reinforcing Cannes' status as a recurring destination for global series.
