Cannes Lions to expand festival programming across city in 2027

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced a major expansion for its 2027 edition, moving programming beyond the traditional Palais des Festivals. For the first time in the event's 74-year history, award-winning and shortlisted creative works will be showcased through installations and exhibitions across various locations in Cannes, including the Croisette and local beaches.

To facilitate this, the organizers are introducing a city-wide passport system. This initiative aims to create a fluid experience where a single credential provides access to both the Palais and recommended flagship experiences throughout the city.

In addition to the geographic expansion, the festival is increasing its investment in the Equity, Representation and Accessibility (ERA) program, raising funding from €2 million to €3 million. The 2027 edition will also debut the Global Creative Assembly, a new honor designed to recognize individuals whose creativity has transformed fields such as advertising, film, music, sport, and technology.
