Canon EOS 7D Mark II tops August 2026 camera sales rankings

Minna no Camera Co., Ltd. released its August 2026 camera and lens transaction rankings, highlighting a strong preference for older, practical models in the second-hand market.

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II, originally released in 2014, took the top spot for camera bodies with an average transaction price of 50,872 yen. This marks the second consecutive month that a DSLR has held the number one position, following the Nikon D750 in July.

Key trends from the report include:

- Price Points: Over half of the top 10 camera bodies were priced under 100,000 yen. - Model Age: No cameras released in 2023 or later appeared in the top 10, with most models dating between 2014 and 2022. - Lenses: The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S ranked first for exchange lenses.
