Canon launches EOS R8 Mark II mirrorless camera

Canon has launched the EOS R8 Mark II, an entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera designed as the successor to the 2023 EOS R8. The new model features a design shift from curved lines to a more linear aesthetic, reminiscent of earlier EOS models.

Key technical upgrades include the integration of in-body image stabilization (IS), a departure from the previous model which relied primarily on lens-based stabilization. The camera is equipped with a 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor and the DIGIC X image processing engine. It also introduces a multi-controller for easier menu navigation and focus point adjustment. The autofocus system utilizes Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, capable of recognizing humans, animals, and vehicles through AI-based learning.

In Japan, the body is priced at 275,000 yen, with various lens kits available. In South Korea, the body is priced at 2,319,000 won. Canon Korea is offering promotional bundles and experiential pop-up events to coincide with the release.
