Canon Theatre to open in Canonsburg following renovation

The Canon Theatre is scheduled to open later this month in Canonsburg following a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony. The venue is the result of over five years of work by the Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute (CECI), a nonprofit organization that purchased the former Canonsburg Middle School building in early 2025 for $500,000.

The renovated facility features 564 seats and is designed to serve as an arts venue for live music, theater, and other productions. During the ceremony, CECI President Anthony Colaizzo and Washington County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Kotula highlighted the project's potential to strengthen community bonds and provide new cultural offerings to Washington County.
