Canon varioPRINT iX1700 deployed by first users in Germany and Netherlands

Canon's new varioPRINT iX1700 inkjet system has been deployed by the first two companies in the EMEA region: AC medienhaus in Germany and Bookadew in the Netherlands.

AC medienhaus, a family-run printing company based in Wiesbaden, is utilizing the system to increase efficiency in commercial and publishing print and to manage higher volumes of small-run orders. Bookadew is using the technology for the economical production of high-quality, small-batch books and to expand its service portfolio.

The varioPRINT iX1700 is designed for print service providers with medium production volumes, capable of producing up to 170 A4 pages per minute. It features high-resolution print heads, water-based polymer pigment inks, and automated maintenance systems. The system is intended to bridge the gap between toner-based models and larger sheet-fed inkjet systems, allowing businesses to utilize inkjet technology for smaller production scales.
