Canottieri Baldesio marks canoeing success and upcoming tennis tournament

The Canottieri Baldesio club has recently marked significant achievements in both canoeing and wheelchair tennis. At the Italian Canoe Championships held in Mantova from July 31 to August 2, the club's athletes demonstrated notable progress despite extreme heat. A standout performance came from the Junior Men's K4 crew—comprising Pietro Persico, Tommaso Zanotti, Umberto Salvagnini, and Marco Cabrini—who secured fourth place in the 500m event, closing a previous 10-second gap with the leaders to within less than one second.

Additionally, the club is preparing to host the 13th edition of the 'Città di Cremona' international wheelchair tennis tournament from September 3 to 6, 2026. The event will feature 32 male and 12 female players from various nations, including Japan, Malaysia, Ecuador, and Latvia. The tournament coincides with the 50th anniversary of wheelchair tennis, a discipline founded by American Brad Parks in 1976.
