Canpotex announces CA$500 million investment in Port of Vancouver terminal

Canpotex, a joint venture between Nutrien Ltd. and The Mosaic Company, has announced a CA$500 million investment to modernize Neptune Bulk Terminals at the Port of Vancouver. This represents the company’s largest-ever investment in its supply chain.

The project aims to upgrade critical marine and terminal infrastructure, including the replacement of shiploaders, conveyors, and the dumper pit used for unloading railcars. These improvements are intended to enhance the reliability, resiliency, and performance of the facility, which serves as a primary export gateway for Saskatchewan potash.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2028, with shipping operations continuing without interruption during the process. Officials noted that the modernization will help ensure Canada can meet the growing global demand for potash to support food production.
