Cansuyu Association sponsors Gazan refugee education in Cairo

The Cansuyu Association is sponsoring an educational program in Cairo, Egypt, to support approximately 800 Gazan refugee students. The initiative utilizes a local school that hosts Egyptian students in the mornings and transitions to a program for Gazan refugees in the afternoons.

The afternoon sessions follow the Palestinian educational curriculum and are staffed entirely by Gazan teachers and administrative personnel. The sponsorship covers school expenses, as well as salaries for teachers and staff. The student body includes children from kindergarten through high school, many of whom are orphans or have physical scars from the conflict.

Dr. Bilal Değirmenci, the External Relations Unit Coordinator for the Cansuyu Association, emphasized the importance of prioritizing education alongside emergency aid in crisis zones to ensure a future for the young population.
