Cantù property transfer advances plans for new police station

The assembly of Canturina Servizi Territoriali S.p.A. has authorized the transfer of a property located on via Vittorio Veneto to the Municipality of Cantù. This building has been identified by the Ministry of the Interior as the future site for a new police station (Commissariato) intended to serve the Cantù and Mariano Comense areas, covering 29 municipalities.

This administrative step follows a July 29 decision by the Cantù City Council and precedes a formal notary act to transfer ownership. The next phase of the project involves establishing a formal agreement with the Ministry of the Interior and conducting necessary renovations to make the building suitable for public security operations.

Cantù Mayor Alice Galbiati described the move as a strategic objective for the territory, while Undersecretary to the Ministry of the Interior Nicola Molteni emphasized that the new station will serve as an essential pillar for local security and economic development, particularly given the increased attractiveness of the area.
