Cantabria teachers to elect Personnel Board on December 3

A total of 9,402 teachers from 242 educational centers in Cantabria will participate in the election for the Personnel Board on December 3. The voting process will take place across 42 designated tables to select 39 delegates, which is two more than the previous term.

The current board, which concludes its term at the end of this year, includes delegates from STEC, ANPE, CCOO, UGT, and TÚ. Participating unions view the election as an opportunity to defend the interests of public education teachers before the administration.

Rus Trueba of the ANPE union, the current president of the Board, stated that the organization aims to improve upon its previous results and focus on defending labor conditions and public education quality for the 2026-2030 term. Meanwhile, Diego San Gabriel of the STEC union described the election as a referendum on the management of the regional Education Counselor, Silva, and expressed goals to expand their majority support to reinforce labor conditions.
