Cantabria to announce 453 new teaching positions for 2027

The Cantabria Ministry of Education has approved a new public employment offer for 453 teaching positions in secondary education and other teaching bodies. These positions are expected to be announced in the coming months, with the selection process taking place throughout 2027.

This new offer brings the total number of teaching positions announced during the current legislature to 1,276, adding to the 823 positions previously called. Additionally, the administration has approved five internal promotion positions for the Educational Inspection Corps.

Education Minister Sergio Silva noted that the measure passed with the abstention of all labor unions. Silva expressed surprise at the lack of union support, stating that the measure increases opportunities for access to public teaching employment and reflects the government's commitment to education, supported by an educational budget of nearly 800 million euros.
