Cantanhede's Expofacic Fair Opens with Azores Day and 11-Day Program

The Expofacic – Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Exhibition in Cantanhede will run from 30 July to 9 August 2024, spanning 11 days and featuring about 200 performances, more than 600 exhibitors across sectors such as agriculture, automotive, crafts and food, and around 50 tasquinhas and restaurants.

On the opening Friday the fair dedicated a session to the Azores, organized by the Casa dos Açores da Região Centro with the municipal council and the Regional Directorate of Communities. The ceremony was attended by regional parliamentary secretary Paulo Estêvão, Cantanhede mayor Helena Teodósio, Casa dos Açores president Francisco Coelho Gil, and a conference led by Carlos Robalo Cordeiro on “Azores and Coimbra, the Sea that Unites Us…”. The event concluded with a debate moderated by José Andrade and a musical show titled “BRUMA: Açores – Canção de Coimbra – Saudade”. Mayor Teodósio highlighted the fair’s role in territorial promotion, economic dynamism and modernization, while INOVA council president Pedro Cardoso noted the expected direct and indirect economic returns.
