Cantemir: 17-year-old boy found dead after violent assault

A 17-year-old boy, identified as Denis, was found dead in the Cantemir district of Moldova following a violent incident in the village of Constantinești. The teenager had gone to a local village feast (hram) on August 28, where a conflict reportedly broke out between him and two other youths during a celebration.

Family members have provided harrowing accounts of the discovery. The boy's grandmother and mother claim he was subjected to extreme cruelty, alleging he was bound by his hands, feet, and neck with grass. They described severe physical trauma, including significant facial swelling and injuries to his hands and head. The victim was reportedly found approximately 150 meters from the home of one of the suspects.

Preliminary forensic examinations have confirmed signs of violent death. Police have detained two young men in connection with the case. Investigators are currently working to determine whether the fatal injuries occurred during the initial altercation or afterward. The family is calling for justice and for all those involved in the killing to be held accountable under the law.
