Canterano hosts 13th annual truffle festival

The XIII Sagra del Tartufo di Canterano is being held in the town of Canterano, near Rome, celebrating the local Tuber aestivum truffle. The event spans two autumn weekends and features a variety of culinary offerings, ranging from traditional dishes like bruschetta with local bread and homemade pasta to gourmet creations such as truffle-infused pizzas, sausages, and even cocktails like a truffle Negroni.

Beyond Canterano, Italy offers several notable destinations for truffle enthusiasts during the autumn season. Alba in the Piedmont region is a premier location for white truffles, set against a backdrop of vineyards and castles. In the Marche region, Acqualagna serves as a significant hub for various truffle varieties, offering a slower-paced gastronomic experience centered around local forests and traditional trattorias.
