Canterbury Bulldogs face COVID-19 outbreak ahead of Penrith clash

A COVID-19 outbreak within the Canterbury Bulldogs squad has threatened the team's preparations ahead of a critical match against the Penrith Panthers. Ten squad members, including star back-rower Jacob Preston, were forced to miss training on Monday following a series of positive tests.

In addition to players, assistant coach Adam O’Brien was instructed to work from home as the illness affected the club for a second consecutive week. Other notable absentees include forwards Josh Curran and Kurt Mann, though Mann was already managing a groin injury.

The Bulldogs, currently in ninth place, face a difficult path to the top eight, requiring wins against both Penrith and Brisbane. The club has not yet confirmed how the outbreak will affect the official team list announcement due Tuesday.
