Canton Fair 140th edition sees record overseas buyer attendance

The first phase of the 140th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, has concluded its in-person exhibition in Guangzhou. The event saw a record turnout of 189,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions, representing a 13.3 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous session.

This year’s fair emphasizes innovation, artificial intelligence, and green development. Approximately 64 percent of exhibitors are utilizing AI and other emerging technologies, while green products reached a record share of 26 percent of all exhibits. The first phase, themed ‘Advanced Manufacturing,’ covered 520,000 square meters and featured over 12,000 participating enterprises across sectors such as electronics, industrial automation, and new energy vehicles.

The fair is divided into three phases running through November 4. The upcoming second phase, themed ‘Quality Home Life,’ will focus on building materials, furniture, and household items.
