Canton Network selected for U.S. benefits pilot program

Digital Asset and the American Idea Foundation have announced the selection of the Canton Network for a pilot program involving three U.S. states. Scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, pending federal approval, the Resources for Independence, Stability, and Employment (RISE) program aims to streamline social assistance.

The RISE program is designed to consolidate various separate benefit payments into one or two monthly disbursements. By utilizing the Canton Network technology, the platform can manage different eligibility requirements, reporting procedures, and income limits while allowing states to categorize funds for specific uses such as food, childcare, or cash.

The technology is intended to verify recipient identity and participation requirements, provide mobile access, and enforce spending restrictions while protecting sensitive personal information. The specific states, federal agencies, and individual benefit programs involved in the pilot have not yet been disclosed.
