Canva launches Code 2.0 in Philippines, boosting AI tools for educators

Canva has rolled out Canva Code 2.0 in the Philippines, expanding its AI‑powered coding platform to let everyday creators turn plain‑language prompts into interactive apps, websites, games and other digital experiences. The update adds a visual, collaborative workflow inside Canva’s editor, allowing users to edit text, fonts, colors and layouts directly, import HTML from other AI tools, and work in real time with teammates via Single Sign‑On and Canva Sheets. The service is now available to Free, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.

Filipino teachers are quickly adopting the tool. Educators Daniel Timbal, Richard Empimo, Reyna Orlanes and Vanda Rema have used Canva Code to build interactive classroom resources without needing programming expertise. Timbal created GuroHub, a free AI‑driven lesson‑planning platform aligned with the Philippine curriculum, which attracted more than 2,000 users in its first month. Other teachers have built lesson hubs, learning games and planning tools, citing the ease of turning prompts into functional digital projects as a major time‑saver.
