Caoa Changan and China advance electric and hybrid vehicle strategies
Caoa Changan has announced plans to expand its presence in the Brazilian market by introducing a diverse portfolio of electrified vehicles. The company will utilize its ‘BlueCore Ultra-Hybrid’ platform, which is designed to support hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), range-extended electric vehicles (REEV), and battery electric vehicles (BEV). Notably, the platform is being adapted for the Brazilian market to ensure compatibility with ethanol.
Simultaneously, China is accelerating its industrial strategy to maintain global leadership in the automotive sector through 2030. The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments have released a development plan focused on new energy vehicles (NEVs), artificial intelligence, connectivity, and autonomous driving systems. China continues to lead global production, having maintained its position as the world's top automobile producer for 17 consecutive years, with significant growth specifically in the NEV segment.
