Capacity building initiatives launched for displaced persons and educators in Africa
In Saint-Louis, the NGO Action Education organized a workshop from October 19 to 21, 2026, to strengthen the organizational and financial management capacities of climate-displaced women and youth from Khar Yalla. Following the loss of traditional fishing activities due to climate change, the initiative aims to support economic reconversion and autonomy through structured income-generating activities.
In Logone Oriental, Chad, the NGO Enfants du monde held a workshop from October 26 to 30, 2026, at the CEDIFOP center in Doba. Funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Union, the training focused on improving literacy, writing, and mathematical problem-solving skills for instructors in non-formal education centers. The project, known as ALAPAJ, seeks to enhance pedagogical quality and provide educational opportunities for youth and adults outside the formal school system.
