Capalbio hosts Giro delle Regioni Ciclocross

The town of Capalbio, specifically the Borgo Carige area, is set to host the 1st Gran Premio Città di Capalbio, also known as the Memorial Romano Scotti. This event serves as the fifth stage of the Giro delle Regioni Ciclocross and the third round of the Italian Cyclocross Championship for Clubs. It also integrates with the Toscana Cross and Lazio Cross circuits.

The race course, located near the Tronchetti Provera sports field, has been prepared by the ASD Romano Scotti staff and local municipal workers. The track is described as challenging due to the clay-heavy soil characteristic of the Maremma region, which organizers expect will change conditions throughout the competition.

Scheduled activities include course testing and a press conference at the Nuovo Cinema Tirreno. The event is expected to draw hundreds of athletes and spectators to the Maremma region, highlighting Capalbio’s role as a sporting link between Tuscany and Lazio.
