Capanema hosts VIII Festival Rio Ouricuri with music and dance competitions

The VIII Festival Rio Ouricuri will take place on Saturday, September 12, in Capanema, located in the northeast of Pará. The free event aims to celebrate the musical and artistic production of the Rio Caetés region.

Key attractions include a four-hour performance by the aparelhagem Crocodilo and various competitions. The 6th CSC Battle will feature 25 individual rhyme competitors and 15 breaking duos. Additionally, the Os Feras do Brega fan club is organizing a tecnobrega dance contest involving 20 couples. Musical performances by DJs such as Nayty Show, David Sampler, Mateuzinho, and Bruno Brown are also scheduled.

Competitions will be split between the Usina da Paz, which will host preliminary rounds and thematic panels on community-based culture and tourism, and Praça 3 de Maio, which will host the finals, the dance contest, and a creative fair. Prize money for winners ranges from R$ 1,000 to R$ 3,000 depending on the category.
