Caparezza releases new music video ‘A Comic Book Saved My Life’

Italian artist Caparezza has released the official music video for his single ‘A Comic Book Saved My Life’. The release follows the conclusion of his summer tour for the album ‘Orbit Orbit’, which was released last October under BMG and has since been certified platinum.

The song explores three specific moments in the artist's life where comic books served as a refuge and a way to navigate reality. This theme is central to the ‘Orbit Orbit’ project, which integrates music, writing, and comic book imagery.

The music video was directed and animated by Gianluca Maruotti, featuring illustrations by Maruotti, Laura Camelli (La Came), and Lorenzo Mò. It utilizes the ‘stop motion cut out animation’ technique, where hand-cut paper and cardboard elements are moved manually and photographed frame by frame to create a physical, tactile visual style. The narrative follows a boy who is transported from his room into a surreal world of space adventures, superheroes, and monsters through the pages of a comic book.
