Capcom announces Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion and Switch 2 version
Capcom has announced the release of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a major expansion for the 2024 title, scheduled for launch on October 9. The expansion introduces a new region called Norgan, which features twelve new dungeons and various new routes, enemies, and quests. The new content is expected to provide over 25 hours of gameplay, including a main story arc lasting approximately 15 to 20 hours.
Key features of the expansion include the introduction of “遺戦品” (relics), which offer powerful custom skills to enhance combat strategies. Players will also encounter new equipment, including four armor sets, two new character origins, and additional visual customization options such as hairstyles, tattoos, and mount appearances. To facilitate exploration in the high-difficulty Norgan region, the game will include more frequent fast-travel points and a limited number of “礎” (foundation) items that allow players to set their own travel points.
Notably, Capcom confirmed that the expansion will also be released as a complete edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. Developers stated that the decision to port to the new platform was made possible by the company's accumulated expertise in using the RE Engine for Switch 2 development. This version will allow players to experience the expanded world in a portable format.
