Capcom announces Resident Evil 2 remake surpasses 20 million players
Capcom has announced that the Resident Evil 2 remake has surpassed 20 million players since its original launch in 2019. The milestone was shared by the RE2 Team via social media, expressing gratitude to the fanbase.
While the figure refers to total players rather than direct sales, the title had previously reached 19.7 million copies sold as of June. This achievement makes it the second best-selling title for Capcom, trailing only Monster Hunter World, and the top seller within the Resident Evil franchise, surpassing Resident Evil 5.
The announcement follows news that the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16.
