Capcom plans Resident Evil Veronica remake for 2027; Resident Evil 5 remake remains uncertain

The remake will be built in third‑person perspective and aims to preserve the series‑defining narrative of Code: Veronica while updating gameplay and character designs, particularly for Claire Redfield.

Capcom insiders say fan pressure keeps the idea of a Resident Evil 5 remake alive, but the company currently lacks strong internal desire to tackle that title. Ongoing projects and higher priority remakes such as Resident Evil Revelations are being prioritized, leaving a Resident Evil 5 remake as a possible future undertaking rather than an imminent one.
