Capcom postpones Resident Evil 5 and 6 remakes, shifts focus to other titles

Leaked information from well‑known insider AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem) indicates that Capcom currently lacks a strong internal drive to remake Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6. While fans continue to request updated versions of these titles, the company is reportedly prioritising other projects, notably a remake of Resident Evil Revelations 1 and the upcoming “Veronica” remake scheduled for 2027.

Capcom’s recent remake slate has included Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, as well as Veronica, Zero and the first game in the series, driven by internal enthusiasm and fan demand. According to the leak, the development teams are currently more interested in revisiting Revelations than in tackling the technically and narratively challenging RE 5 and RE 6 entries.

The reports suggest that while a Resident Evil 5 remake remains a long‑term possibility, it is not a near‑term priority for the publisher.
