Capcom releases Onimusha: Way of the Sword for Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom has released Onimusha: Way of the Sword for the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first mainline entry in the franchise in 20 years. The action-adventure title follows the journey of the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.

The narrative begins in Kyoto, where Musashi, depicted as a complex and somewhat arrogant warrior, is defeated by Genma creatures. Following this encounter, he is forced to wield a magical Oni Gauntlet that provides immense strength and immortality, setting him on a quest to navigate the fantastical realms beyond the living world.

Critics have highlighted the character development of Musashi and the English voice performance by Kenichiro Thompson. The game is noted for its cinematic inspiration, drawing elements from Japanese history and film to create a compelling protagonist arc.
