Capcom Says No Plans for Resident Evil 5 & 6 Remakes Amid Veronica and Zero Remake Developments

Capcom insiders, cited as Dusk Golem, confirm the company has no current commitment to remake Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6. The studio’s strategy focuses on selective remakes, evaluating projects on a roughly five‑year horizon rather than pursuing a full‑series overhaul.

The next confirmed remakes are Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero. Development of these titles is proceeding in parallel with the new main‑line game Resident Evil Requiem, allowing narrative links—especially through the antagonist Albert Wesker—to be integrated across the releases. Veronica is slated for a 2027 launch, with Zero following in 2028.

Additional franchise news includes a new line of Resident Evil Funko Pop! figures (Leon, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and Chainsaw Man) slated for September release, and confirmed support for amiibo and HDR on the upcoming Veronica remake, as shown on the Japanese Nintendo eShop listing.
