Capcom Sets 2027 Release Date for Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake

Capcom unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake at the Summer Game Fest 2026, confirming a planned launch in 2027. The three‑minute‑long video follows franchise heroine Claire Redfield as she explores a Paris‑style apartment filled with Easter eggs. While an exact date has not been announced, the company hinted that the release could align with the original title’s February or August launch windows.

Producer Masachika Kawata explained in a Game Informer interview that Capcom’s strategy of issuing annual Resident Evil titles—such as the 2026 release of Resident Evil Requiem followed by the 2027 Veronica remake—allows the studio to sustain financial resources for both remakes and new IPs like Pragmata. This approach has driven continued success for the series since the 2019 revival of classic entries.
