Capcom unveils life-sized Mega Man Rock Buster at Tokyo Game Show 2026

Capcom and the FactorISM Executive Committee have unveiled a life-sized, 1/1 scale Rock Buster from the Mega Man series at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The exhibit, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21, represents a collaborative project between major intellectual property and regional manufacturing expertise.

The model was precision-machined from solid aluminum with micron-level accuracy by M's Corporation, a prototyping specialist based in Shijonawate, Osaka. The distinctive blue color was achieved through a specialized chromium-free electrolytic polishing and anodizing process developed by Denken Co., Ltd., located in Ikuno-ku, Osaka. Unlike traditional paint, this anodizing technique infuses color into the metal, ensuring durability and a high-quality finish.

This collaboration highlights the intersection of digital IP and traditional craftsmanship. The Mega Man series, which debuted in 1987, is also preparing for its latest title, ‘Mega Man: Dual Override’, scheduled for release in spring 2027.
