Capcom unveils Resident Evil remake and Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion at Summer Game Fest

Capcom announced at this year's Summer Game Fest that it will release a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica, dropping the word “Code” from the title. The company also revealed a major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, called Ascendance, slated for launch in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer showed a new area with floating islands, a weapon‑power‑up mechanic and the return of the elder dragon Kushala Daora.

Capcom noted that post‑launch updates have addressed earlier performance and challenge issues in Monster Hunter Wilds, prompting many lapsed players to return. The announcements reflect Capcom’s continued focus on high‑quality titles and new content for its flagship franchises.
