CapCut hosts AI Content Fest 2026 to promote Indonesian filmmaking

CapCut hosted the AI Content Fest 2026, a national short film festival designed to showcase how artificial intelligence can assist Indonesian creators in developing cinematic stories. Under the theme ‘Small Stories. Big Screen. One Nation’, the event featured 10 selected works from creators across various regions of Indonesia, which were screened on the large ScreenX display at CGV Grand Indonesia in Jakarta.

The festival aims to provide a platform for local talent to merge traditional narratives—such as culture, identity, and daily life—with advanced AI editing tools. Jessica Wowor, Head of Content Operations for CapCut Indonesia, stated that the initiative seeks to help creators bring their perspectives to the big screen and increase the visibility of local works.

The event also included panel discussions with industry figures such as Angga Dwimas Sasongko, Mouly Surya, and Lukman Sardi, who discussed AI as a supporting tool for human creativity. This initiative aligns with the Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy’s goals to strengthen the national creative industry, which contributed over Rp1,500 trillion to the national GDP in 2024.
