Cape Town International Kite Festival promotes mental health awareness

The Cape Town International Kite Festival, held at the Youngsfield Military Base in Ottery, serves as a community event to raise awareness for mental health and emotional well-being. Organized by Cape Mental Health, the festival uses the joy of kite flying to foster open conversations regarding mental health challenges and resilience.

Ingrid Daniels, CEO of Cape Mental Health, noted that the festival provides a platform to change conversations around mental health. The event also functions as a fundraiser to support the development and delivery of mental health services throughout the Western Cape region.
