Cape Town named among top 50 global Halloween destinations

Cape Town has been ranked as the 48th best Halloween travel destination in the world for 2026 by the travel platform Travel and Tour World. The city's spooky reputation is linked to local legends such as the ghost ship 'The Flying Dutchman', the haunted Castle of Good Hope, and the folklore of Devil's Peak.

Upcoming celebrations in Cape Town include the Cape Town Zombie Walk in the Central Business District, a production of 'Dracula' at Artscape, and a centenary celebration of the silent film 'FAUST' at the Labia.

In Johannesburg, various events are scheduled for October 31, including the 10th anniversary of 'The Haunted Forest' at Prison Break Market, themed experiences at the Johannesburg Zoo, electronic music raves in Newtown, and a night market at the Edenvale German Club.
