Cape Verde Coach and Goalkeeper Linked to Moroccan Club Renaissance Berkane

Cape Verdeian coach Pedro Leitao, known as Boavista, is set to take charge of Moroccan side Renaissance Berkane on a contract that runs until the summer of 2028. Leitao, who guided the Cape Verde national team to the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, will replace Mouine Chaabani after the club finished second in the Botola Pro and reached the CAF Champions League final.

In a related development, veteran goalkeeper José Pedro Dias, nicknamed Vozinha, is in advanced talks to join Berkane. The 40‑year‑old, who starred for Cape Verde at the World Cup, was recently announced by Chilean club Colo‑Colo but has not yet reported to Santiago. Negotiations are being handled by Cape Verde coach Bubista, with the expectation that Vozinha will travel to Morocco to finalize the move.
