Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha attracts Brazilian Serie B interest after World Cup 2026 heroics
Goalkeeper Zózimo Zózé Évora N'tia, known as Vozinha, delivered a standout performance at the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, keeping a clean sheet for Cape Verde in a 0‑0 draw against Spain. His saves helped the African side earn its first ever point in a World Cup finals.
At 40 years old, the veteran has drawn attention from three clubs in Brazil's Serie B, with talks already under way for a possible move in July, including interest from Seara. Vozinha, who has amassed over 80 caps for Cape Verde and appeared in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, has previously played in Angola, Moldova, Portugal, Cyprus, and Slovakia before ending his most recent contract in the Czech Republic.
The goalkeeper is now considering extending his playing career for another two to three years, remaining active at a high level.
