Cape Verde keeper Marcio Rosa signs with Romanian side UTA Arad

Goalkeeper Marcio Rosa, a 29‑year‑old international who earned nine caps for the Cape Verde national team and was part of the squad at the 2026 World Cup, is close to completing a transfer to Romanian SuperLiga club UTA Arad. The club, coached by Adrian Mihalcea, has negotiated a deal valued at about €350,000, and Rosa was photographed arriving at the Francisc Neuman stadium and taking a seat in the stands before the UTA‑Rapid match.

Rosa previously played in Portugal for clubs such as Chaves, Montalegre, Cova da Piedade, Vilafranquense and Anadia. At UTA he will compete with existing keepers Andrei Gorcea and the recently sidelined Arpad Tordai. The team sits near the bottom of the league table after three rounds, with one point from seven goals conceded, and hopes Rosa’s international experience will strengthen its defence.
