Cape Verde makes historic World Cup debut in 2026

Cape Verde has qualified for its first ever FIFA World Cup and will compete in Group H against Spain, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia at the 2026 tournament. The nation’s 26‑man squad, assembled by coach Pedro Leitão Brito – known as Bubista – draws players from 14 countries and includes clubs from 25 teams.
