Cape Verde's debut kits and Spain coach warns of tough opening match at 2026 World Cup
Cape Verde will make its first appearance at a FIFA World Cup in 2026, wearing three different kits during the group stage. The team will wear a white secondary kit against Spain on June 15 in Atlanta, a red alternate kit against Uruguay on June 21 in Miami, and its primary blue kit against Saudi Arabia on June 26 in Houston.
Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente said the opener against Cape Verde will be “very difficult,” praising the island nation’s players for their technical, tactical and physical quality. He emphasized the historic nature of the tournament, which now features 48 teams, and warned that Cape Verde could surprise many opponents.
