Peru construction sector signs pact to increase female participation
During the EXCON 2026 forum, the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (CAPECO) and the Federation of Construction Civil Workers of Peru (FTCCP) signed the Pact for Women's Participation in Construction. The agreement aims to expand training, employment access, and professional development for women in the industry.
Data from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) indicates that in the second quarter of 2025, only 0.8% of employed women in Peru worked in the construction sector. The initiative, supported by CONAFOVICER, seeks to address wage gaps and labor inequalities through collaboration between the state, businesses, and unions.
Additionally, CAPECO has established three strategic agreements to benefit its members. These include a digital training partnership with EXCUELA, a participatory financing initiative with Prestópolis to support real estate developers, and a risk management alliance with Willis Towers Watson and BL Corredores de Seguros to provide specialized insurance and asset protection.
