Capelli Service celebrates 65 years with new ceiling artwork

The historic Italian auto body shop Capelli Service celebrated its 65th anniversary in Reggio Emilia with the unveiling of a new large-scale artwork titled ‘Capelli Sistina’. Created by artists Simone Ferrarini and Luca Prete of the Collettivo Fx, the street-art inspired piece covers over 50 square meters of the workshop's ceiling.

The mural depicts various workshop activities, replacing traditional religious figures with scenes of manual labor and craftsmanship. The inauguration event, known as the ‘Festa della Vernice’, drew over 500 guests, including local officials and community members.

Founded in 1961 by Marino Capelli, the business has remained a family-run operation, passing from the founder to his son Pietro, and currently to his grandson Andrea Capelli. During the celebration, Managing Director Pietro Capelli highlighted the evolution of the craft and the importance of maintaining manual artisanal skills amidst advancing technologies.
